Strange Alchemy

Create an intriguing book cover for an anthology of unusual stories in line with the directions provided by the Chemeketa Press.

Layout

I was slightly stumped at the notion of making an intentionally weird design. I worked through some surface-level solutions that I wasn’t pleased with. After taking a break and re-reading some of the stories provided, I landed on a stark, high-contrast, industrial scene with a shape language inspired by beakers, tubes, burners, and vats.
